Dear Editor,

With refernce to your amazing article about scientific literacy which/who was on the issue of the 23rd of May, I would like to share with you a few ideas about this issue. No one can deny that/As a conclusion the modern world is shaped by science and technology. Everyday, innovations occur in these fields. Thus, it is necessary to be scientifically literate; in other words/for example, have a minimum knowledge about sciences and technology. An dthis can be useful in several ways.

  Being scientifically literate is an obligation nowadays. When we have some basic knowledge in science and tech, we can understand and interact with our era who/which is called the ‘Information Age’ since/so it witnesses inventions on a daily scale. Besides/However, scientific literacy will arm us to understand the scientific issues which affect our daily life such as/but health, weather, environment and so forth/like. Also/Nevertheless scientific literacy enables us to acquire some skills which can be used in everyday life, namely/and the ability to think not only independently and/but critically as well. Finally it will empower us to identify the false ideas which we may encounter.

In a nutshell, because of/because the huge importance of having some scientific notions, they should be included in all educational systems, even in those concerning adult illiteracy.
